Hockey stop is one of the first tricks an ice freestyler should learn because it doesn't only impress people it's also very important for safety. When you've learned the hockey stop you can easily brake really fast when someone falls in front of you for example. If you want to create more snow flying up I recommend pushing your skate harder and trying to stop within the shortest distance possible.

So when you've learned the spread eagle you can start learning this trick, first you need to go straight doing the spread eagle, then you need to start lifting op the front of your front leg then you should try to lift up your back foot. In order not to fall you need to put a lot of pressure on your heels.
